Meet our new Wittmann WP80 - Robot
Sprue picker

Since February this year (2024), our factory has incorporated in our production field new robot – Wittmann Model WP80.
With the installation of the robot we proceed to cultivate our mission to continuously development of our manufacturing processes and quality improvement.
The new robot is design for the removal of sprues and parts from the injection-molding machine. The solid construction allows fast movement with low vibration for precise removal.
With this new device, we can guarantee reliable and fast part handling during our production processes.
With the following specifications of our new robot:
-    Rotational movement along axis Z up to 95° Degree;
-    Linear movement along axis Y up to 700 mm;
-    Linear movement along axis X up to 100 mm.
we achieve accuracy and reliability during injection molding production process.
Furthermore, the robot is equipped with these features: Venturi vacuum with part monitoring and part gripper with four suction cups.
In addition, the robot has a remote control Robot control Net8, which has easy to use interface with LCD graphic display.
The remote control is design with simple touch-in programming of the entire program sequence. It has four standard program for easy setup and up to fifty additional individual programs can be tough and store in its memory.
When it appear a problem, it can be done full diagnostic with text error messages.

The robot is equipped with heavy – duty linear rails and recirculating ball bearings along axis X, which ensure low vibrations and reliable movement along this axis. It has also swivel base to rotate the arm for mold changes and locating pin for precisely reposition of the arm for part removal.
Along Y - axis the new device can make movement from 0 up to 700 mm and has adjustable stroke.
Furthermore, the robot has pneumatic absorbers and locking cylinder to prevent the arm from drifting down into the mold in the event of air pressure lost. The robot Y-axis has also a heavy – duty switch and additional interlock before the mold can close.
The Z – axis of the robot is pivot and allows to be adjusted from 45° to 95°. The robot has simply changeover from rear side to the operator side placement.
The new device has B – axis – the tooling rotational axis that allows the tool to be rotated up to 90° Degree.
The rotation of the tool is made automatically when pivoting the Z – axis out of the machine.
The Z – axis has mechanical sprue gripper and part monitoring.
In addition, the new Wittmann WP80 Robot has a Venturi vacuum and it is equipped with parts gripper with 4 suction cups.
The advantages of the implementation of automation are:
-    Highest productivity of the injection molding machine with shortest cycle times;
-    Minimizes all moving masses for the highest acceleration and deceleration;
-    The moving X – axis is further improving the dynamic of the mid- size units.
In our company, we have a goal to provide complete solution for injection molding processes from and we continuously make effort to development and improve our production processes.
